The pulp may be dying, damaged, or infected. If left untreated, it can become more painful and more infected, which could put your overall health at risk. Having a root canal eliminates the infection and pain, returning you to your normal self and saving your tooth!
If your tooth has been damaged from decay or injury, or if it has recently become sensitive to hot or cold, there is a chance you may need root canal therapy because your tooth is infected or dying. When you come to see us, we will examine you with top technology to determine whether you need root canal therapy.
Root canal recovery may be easier than you think! Usually, patients are a bit numb for a couple of hours after the procedure. Your mouth may be a bit sore for a few days afterward, but it can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. You should be back to normal after about a week.
Clean your teeth thoroughly before you come to the office. If you're getting conscious-IV sedation, make sure you don't eat or drink anything at least 6 hours before your procedure.

"Dr. Katherine was amazing. She explained everything and was very kind and gentle, as gentle as one can be with a root canal. I certainly wouldn’t hope for an opportunity to revisit, but if it comes I know I’ll be in good hands. Thank you."
